Healthcare is broken,
so we’re changing the system
Insurance-driven healthcare isn’t working
Most people in America have dealt with denials, unexpected costs, and other frustrations trying to access healthcare in a fragmented system that was built haphazardly. It’s become normalized, but there’s nothing normal about it.
Sick care only
Seeing a doctor only happens when you’re sick or you’ve scheduled months in advance, but you get rushed out the door without covering everything.
Insurance doesn't work
You pay ever-increasing premiums and copays and deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums and still get denied for the care you need.
Power in the wrong hands
Private interests have wormed their way into every level of healthcare, and physicians aren’t the ones making decisions; CEOs are.
Nobody wins
Healthcare workers are burned out, staffing shortages are putting everyone at risk, patients are frustrated, and nobody is getting what they need.
Rebel + Thrive
We’re changing the story
Through a revolutionary approach to primary care, we’re bypassing insurance and creating a solid foundation for your well-being.
Education + awareness
It’s tough to create change when people aren’t aware it’s needed. The first step in creating a movement is educating people about the problems and injustices in the current medical system: how they came to be, why no one has fixed them yet, and how we’re all paying for it.
Legislative reform
Taking part in the push for systemic change means supporting groups like Take Medicine Back, Direct Primary Care Alliance, Direct Primary Care Frontier, and Direct Specialty Care Alliance. Large-scale change takes time, but these groups are working to create the kind of change that will create a better medical system in the future.
A new path
There simply isn’t enough time to wait for the system to change, so Dr. J has created potential where things were once stagnant. With a viable alternative to insurance-driven primary care, people are able to begin to move toward something better, and the trust between PCPs and patients can be restored.
Compassionate care
What happens for each Rebel + Thrive patient might not seem that radical, but providing patient-centered care that helps people access what they need to thrive is truly revolutionary.
Why is it called Rebel + Thrive?
The Rebel + Thrive name is a deliberate choice. When Dr. Javidi set out to create her direct primary care practice, she also wanted to start a movement.
- Rebellion against the status quo is inherent in the rejection of the insurance-driven model.
- It’s a brave choice to think outside the box and move toward the possibility of a better future.
- Healthcare shouldn’t just be the avoidance of illness; it should be about holistic wellness and thriving.
