FAQs
How do I make a new appointment?
You can request an appointment through the Hint patient portal, or you can call or text us at (614) 776-0930 to discuss availability.
In Hint, click on the calendar icon in the bottom right of the screen to see availability and request an appointment. You can also cancel appointments here, as needed. After you request an appointment time, you’ll get an email once your appointment request is confirmed.
What if I need to cancel an appointment?
If you need to cancel an appointment, you can do so via Hint by clicking on the calendar icon in the lower right. You can also text or call us at (614) 776-0930.
After you’ve canceled, you can easily reschedule. Either request a new appointment in Hint or request an appointment via text/call.
Will I get appointment reminders?
Yes, you’ll receive appointment reminders via email and text 24 hours and 1 hour before your visit. The link for the meeting will be included in the email only.
How do I connect for virtual visits?
Your appointment confirmation email (and reminder emails) will contain a Google Meet link. Connect using this link on any device with a wifi connection, camera, and microphone.
Is there a difference between texts and portal messages?
This is one of the great things about Hint: there is only one way to send messages! If you have a question in between visits, you can text or call (614) 776-0930, and your message will be routed to Hint. This goes for medical and logistical questions.
How should I communicate about an urgent issue?
When you have an urgent need or concern, it’s best to send a text message to (614) 776-0930; this message will appear in Hint and be tied to your patient record. Dr. Leila will be notified of these messages, but follow up with a call or text to Dr. Leila’s emergency number. This ensures that she’ll get to it as quickly as possible.
How do I know if my issue is considered urgent or not?
It can be difficult to determine what is and isn’t an urgent issue, especially if you aren’t sure what’s going on or what is causing your symptoms. There is obviously a lot of nuance to the situation, but we recommend asking yourself two questions:
Do I think something bad would probably happen if there was no intervention?
If I messaged Dr. Leila and didn’t hear back by the end of the day, would I go to urgent care or the ER?
If the answer to either of these questions is yes, consider the issue urgent!
How do I ask a medical question?
Text or call (614) 776-0930!
The only time to do anything differently is when you have an urgent, after-hours concern or request. In these cases, you can call or text Dr. Leila’s emergency phone number. Otherwise, use the main practice number for everything!
What if I need to send a picture or document?
You can text the file to (614) 776-0930. If you have any issues, let us know, and we’ll help troubleshoot.
Can I send you nonclinical messages?
If you have something funny or interesting to share with me (that isn’t related to your care), you can email me at drleila@rebelandthrive.com.
Where do I make medication refill requests?
To request a refill on one of your prescription medications, you can always call or text us at (614) 776-0930 or let your doctor know during an appointment.
Where are my lab/imaging/testing results?
Hint has intentionally created a simple portal in order to keep the price of their electronic health record reasonable and accessible to direct primary care practices. Orders will be faxed, just as before. A copy of your order will be posted in Hint under the Health tab.
Your labs and results are available in the respective portals of the medical facilities (e.g. MyChart) or laboratories (e.g. Quest) where the testing was performed. Ideally, results will be faxed to our office by the facility as well.
