Dr. Leila Javidi, MD/MPH
About
A proud Cleveland native and Ohio State alum (Go Bucks!), Dr. Leila Javidi is a passionate primary care physician who built the Rebel & Thrive brand out of a belief that there has got to be a better way than what our broken healthcare system offers to patients (or subjects them to, as the case may be). She calls Columbus home, where she shares her life with two Ragdoll cats, Herm and Wilma.
Education & Experience
Dr. Leila earned her MD and a Master’s in Public Health in Epidemiology at St. George’s University. She also completed a public health internship at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a Family Medicine Residency at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s in Columbus, Ohio. Board certified in Family Medicine, she’s been practicing as a primary care physician since 2016.
Beyond caring for patients, she loves to teach and has had the privilege of consulting on medical school curriculum with MedSchoolTutors (now Blueprint).
Advocacy
You may come across Dr. J on TikTok @drleilaissad ranting about the healthcare system, cracking jokes, doing makeup, or educating on a wide range of medical and public health topics. On a mission to take corporate interests out of healthcare, she brings a fiery honesty to conversations about access, patient-centered care, and hot topics of the day. But she wants everyone to know: she’s a lot less angry in real life than she often seems on TikTok. 🔥
